  Richard F. Jones was born in Pensacola, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander (Bubba) Payne and Marilyn DeVaugn Jones; his grandmother, Ellen Philyaw Jones; and his siter, Nancy (Sissy Boo) West. Richard accepted Christ at an early age under Dr. A. J. King. He later reunited with Greater Union Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Michael A. Thompson, Sr. Richard graduated from Booker T.
